Why did Dinner and Drinks get set up?
Dinner and Drinks was set up by Simon and some friends many many years ago.. It was the type of community and service that Simon had experienced growing up, and seemed like the obvious thing to have in London as we all got older and wiser. One summer over a barbeque the idea took shape, and it also seemed like a great way to help raise money for charity, meet great people and help create a change for good in London, the UK and in time the world.

I’m having login problems.
Your username and password are case sensitive so need to be typed in with capital where appropriate. If you log in and get referred back to the login page again, make sure your browser privacy settings are not to high. This site does use cookies. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer set to "Medium High" or lower (Go to Tools>Internet Options>Privacy)

Why can't I find many other users when I search? or no users found?
Sometimes the search is too specific, so the best thing is to do simple search, clear all settings including the town and the postcode.
Make you sure you put in your gender and the gender of the people you're looking for.
To help with your search, make sure you complete your profile and set your preferences as wide as possible.
Completing your profile will also help others find you.
Also follow the tips on the search page for best results.

What can I do about members who I don't want to talk to anymore?
Our members are nice people. If you find that someone is not being respectful etc.. then please let us know, with the "abuse" button. Alternatively if you simply want to nor receive any more of their messages you can use the block function found around the site but particularly in the annoying members profile.
Then they won't be able to contact you after unless you have given them external contact details - which we recommend you don't do until you feel comfortable etc.. - use your good judgement.
If they are persistent please advise admin so we can investigate and take further action where appropriate.
If you feel that someone is misusing the site please use the “Report abuse” button on their profile page, and will investigate and if necessary remove them.
We take our members and their well being very seriously. And so far we haven't had to action any of these things, but they are in place should the need arise.

Why have some of my messages disappeared?
If a member decides to break the Terms and Conditions of the site (posting inappropriate pictures, harassment) then we delete their membership, when this happens everything that they are associated to also gets deleted. This also happens if they cancel their own account.

I received a message saying someone had been in touch, but when I logged in nothing was there, what happened?
From time to time people abuse the system, a curse of making it so friendly and easy to use. As soon as this is identified, those members are deleted and when this happens their unwanted emails are also removed.

I can't send any more messages and I just signed up?
For security reasons and to prevent spamming our members, you are only allowed to send a set number of messages in the first few days after your subscription.
